From the newborn period to the end of adolescence (10-18 years), all diagnosis, treatment and surgical procedures related to childhood are performed in Istanbul Surgery Hospital Pediatrics Clinic;

It provides service in 5 units. Our clinic, which is next to children and their families 24/7 with the Emergency Service unit, gives importance to the health of their children in all branches from the pediatric unit to pediatric orthopedics.

Our emergency unit provides 24-hour uninterrupted service. When necessary, the child is seen and consulted again in our outpatient clinic. All kinds of examinations and consultations are carried out for our patients who require hospitalization.

Our inpatients are treated in our service by the pediatrician and in cooperation with the family. All necessary precautions are taken for the comfort and safety of our patients.

Thanks to effective control methods, nosocomial infections are rare.

Newborn Baby Room;

Our hospital fulfills all the conditions of being a baby-friendly hospital. A pediatrician is present at all deliveries in our hospital, and if there is a need for intervention, necessary interventions are made. The first examination of the baby is also done by the pediatrician immediately after birth. In the follow-up, the pediatrician, baby nurses and other team members work for baby-mother harmony, comfort and safety. They are in solidarity with families in all processes related to breastfeeding and baby care – follow-up. All necessary training and information about the home care process are provided.

Measurements of blood sugar and jaundice are routinely done. Metabolic screening test (Heel Blood Test) is performed for each baby. Hearing – screening test is performed on all babies. When deemed necessary, other examinations are carried out and training programs are implemented.

Newborn Intensive Care

Pediatrician and baby nurse are present at every birth in our hospital and the first examination is done at the time of birth. Babies that do not require intervention are followed for a while in the Newborn Baby Room, and then given to the mother, where close follow-up continues. In cases that require intervention, the baby is immediately transferred to the Newborn Intensive Care Unit and the necessary treatment and follow-up are carried out in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit equipped with the latest technology. It is consulted by a Newborn Specialist when necessary.

A team work is carried out in order to provide all necessary quality services to all children born in our hospital or who apply at any age. Babies, who are started to be followed up in the womb with a multidisciplinary approach, are followed up with postnatal mental-motor development, nutrition, vaccination, infectious diseases and preventive medicine programs.
