Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology
Infectious diseases are the most common diseases in all countries of the world and in our country. In addition to the most common general finding such as fever in infectious diseases, signs and symptoms may vary depending on the infectious agent and the individual situation. However, most of them end with complete healing without leaving any sequelae when treated appropriately. As a result of advances in diagnostic methods and the use of new antimicrobial drugs, many infectious diseases can be diagnosed and treated.
In our hospital, examination and screening tests required in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases are performed in the Microbiology Laboratory with direct and stained microscopic examinations, culture methods and serological tests.
The Hospital Infection Control and Prevention Committee, which is responsible for the prevention and control of infections that may develop in the hospital environment, meets regularly. Emphasis is placed on training the personnel through various training meetings organized by the committee. Antibiotic use control of the hospital for the prevention of resistant infections is also carried out by the committee.
